In all of the River Valley Civilizations we have examined, geography has played an important part in the development of each civilization. For this blog I want you to pick one geographic feature from each civilization and briefly describe how it had an effect on the civilization. When responding in the "name" field just put your first name, along with your period number. Mesopotamia - Tigris and Euphrates:
Egypt - Sahara Desert/Nile River/ Nile Delta:
India - Himalaya Mountains/Monsoons:
China - Yellow River/Himalayas/Gobi Desert/China Sea
Mesopotamia - tigris river: provided food, water and papyrus
Egypt - nile river: protected and kept invaders away.
India - monsoons; ruined other peoples lifes with horrible weather.
China - yellow river: provided food and water.

Mesopotamia: Euphrates River-Provided fertile soil
Egypt: Deserts-Provided a natural barrier
India: Monsoons-Brought rain and watered crops, thus causing floods and destruction.
China: Mountains-provided a natural barrier keeping out invaders and allowing them to become technologicly advanced.

-Mesopotamia-the tigris river provided fertile soil useful for growing crops. -Egypt-the sahara desert helped isolate.
-India-monsoon winds caused very hot and dry weather during the winter and very rainy weather during the summer.
-China-the himalayas helped isolate and protect china from invasion.
